Chop the top?

I'm going to need to reprimer my truck within the next couple years... The most recent $600 paint job that the Corolla who rear-ended me paid for is already starting to flake off.


While I have it all disassembled and sanded and what not, I want to lower the roof around four inches.

Anybody with any custom-car experience care to estimate what that would entail and how much it would cost? I see all kinds of old cars with chopped roofs, so it couldn't be too expensive, could it?
