Year interchangeability for front fenders.

Postby Tacoclaw » Mon Jul 13, 2009 2:35 pm

Sorry to have to ask this, but I've been looking around for about 3 hours and I just can't seem to find a straight answer.

I need a set of front fenders badly, and there is a set near me for cheap, but their for an '84 model. I read a thread in page 2/3 that said the style change was in 82/83, but they were talking about the bed. I just wanted to confirm that these would work on my truck.

yes they will work. anything 81-93 will work, although it may have a different mounting for the trim. not a big deal though.

I was looking at my truck the other day and noticed the fender I got from Bill had a different curve on the top in front. It didn't match the curve of the hood, about a 1/4 inch lower, less radius. The other side has the fender from the '86 donor truck, and I'm using the original hood. I don't know what year Bills came off, and I didn't care enough to walk around and look at the other side. Maybe next time I think of it...........

Thanks a lot for the quick replies guys, If the radius is different, at least it'll be different on both sides.

Shoot, for all I know the top of the fender is beat in and it's all bondo!
Just kidding, pretty sure it's all steel. I walked past the truck 8 times since I posted yesterday, and never thought about looking at it.

Pete, if said fender was red and silver, it's from a 90. At least that's what his donor rig was. May not even be from that pickup, either.
