Leaking behind the seat?

Postby Nate » Sun Jan 03, 2010 7:32 pm

So it rains alot out this way. every time I grab something behind the bench seat I notice that its soaking wet in my cargo tray (never leave the back widow open). also its always wet on the floor board on the driver side by the door. The rubber around the door looks good enough i guess. anyone else had moisture issues like this

Most of the leaks are winshield or vent leaks. Never had a rear leak. I'm sure its possible.

Yep im pretty sure she's got a leaky rear  are there drain plugs under the body or something like in the trunks of cars?

A couple possibilities to look into would be the cargo light in the rear, and cowl cracks or windshield seal in the front.

If it's wet in the cargo tray it might be the rear window too. If you have a cargo light, I'd bet on that. Take a good look in the drip rail on the front window. If the caulk is loose or missing pieces that could be the leak also.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I've noticed on my truck that after a hard rain there will be some water collected in the bottom of the window gasket where it forms a "ledge". I keep meaning to get up there and seal up the cargo light, and see if that's the cause.
