I'm putting together a welding rig. I bought this dodge with a flatbed on it and wrestled with different ideas concerning maximizing storage capacity and layout of a self-built bed. Then I stumbled upon this gem on craigslist. The utility bed was off of a 1986 Ford F600 that was a Pacific Bell truck, still has the company logo on the mud flaps!
For $200 bucks, I didnt think I could go wrong. I drove 2 hours to look it over. It was in an auto dismantling yard. I offered the guy $100 bucks. He laughed and said he could recycle it for more than that. I fired back with $150. At that point he just turned around and walked away. I was right behind him with the $200.
It was a gamble, but I am satisfied with the outcome. I thought the wheelwell would be way to big, but I think it works out, what do you all think?
