Overhead shelf.

Postby pulltilbroke » Mon Jul 05, 2010 7:15 pm

Got my overhead shelf in the truck and got my CB mounted and fabbed up a switch panel. Still gotta finish gettin a power source up ther to tie into for all the switches that will eventually be up there. I'm also goin to have a few power ports up there to charge phones and other stuff.

I got this used from a friend for doing some pump tuning. The felt on it was pretty rough so off it came and we polished the aluminum.

I have been looking at a similar project for my 92.......nice job :thumright: The polished aluminum style looks more professional. Kinda creates a place for the junk on the bench seat also ( in my truck anyway )

Andy, that nice, lots better than those wooden ones I've seen. :yuck: Just run the power wire up behind the plastic on the A pillar. ;)

If anyone wants one, I have another in my basement I took out of mine. Got tired of having to lean forward at stop lights.

I *THINK* it's aluminum with a felt covering to make it similar to the headliner.

You short(er) guys have NO IDEA how good life can be for y'all.

Jeff, you find a Ramcharger yet? I saw one for sale not far from here for $2500. Didnt stop to look, but at 65mph I didnt see much rust, if any.

When I got my shelf thing the felt was in piss poor shape and stripped it down to the aluminum, and it was time consuming, I then polished it.

If you bring it you probly wont go home with it. If jeff or pete don't take it I probly will, the old mans truck needs one.
