Trim Nub Removal

Postby Begle1 » Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:05 pm

Has anybody ever removed all the little nubs on the sheetmetal that hold on all the non-intercooled trim pieces?

Mine's due for another $500 repaint, and I'd sure like to remove mine this time.

Yup, I put some 90 fenders on my 93 and removed them. I just ground them flush ( easy does it = less heat ). I then put waterproof fine fiberglass bondo topped with scratch filler.

So you ground them with a grinding wheel?

I'd really like to have a way to get it done without having to bondo around the whole vehicle to make it flat... I don't mind bondo and there are several bondo colonies happily lurking on my truck, but that'd condemn every body panel to having several bondo spots.
