Experimented on my grill since it is cracked up and most of the tabs are broken. I think I'll do the same thing but in body color when I get the point of painting the entire truck (on a new grill shell obviously)

I experimented on my parts truck for possible future body mods to mine.

I'd like to cut the entire thing off, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I know it is a ton of body work, but I think it will really clean up the exterior of these old trucks. Hell even just the part down the side being gone makes a huge difference.

And because its not in this thread, here is what my truck looks like with a visor on it. I just have it taped in place in the pic, its still sitting on my trailer because I need to do something with the drip rail before it goes on. (all the sealer is dried/cracked)

These trucks just don't look right without a good drip rail. Leave the rail just remove what you can of the old sealer and reseal with soft seam sealer. My body man redid my rails when he painted my truck and it looks real nice all full of glossy paint.
