repairing my heater control cable on my 78 powerwagon, the cable had broken,so i removed the whole cable, then removed the core.I had an old autozone univ choke cable ,pulled the core out of it an low and behold it was the same size, coil the ends around a nail and stick it back together and woks like new.this works on both cables.

iF THE WOMEN DONT FIND YA HANDSOME,,,AT LEAST LET EM FIND YA HANDY!lol
In all actuality, you just use the nail to make the 3 coils in the end of the cable, then re-attach it like it was from the factory.

Actually, smarty britches, the wire was to take up the slack in the throttle cable. I do it in all my pickups. Gives me the illusion of a responsive throttle in a near stock truck. Easy alternative to bending the accelerator pedal shaft/rod.

Dont poke fun at my 6th cousin, 4x removed.
