New project 85 crewcab 1 ton dually 4x4 yes 4x4

Postby TurbadCummins » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:11 pm

I just picked up this basically mint 85 crewcab 1 ton with a professionally swapped in by northwest quad van in Oregon.4wd with 205 divorced t case, and Alcoa wheels :D I couldn't believe it when I saw it for sale somewhat locally to me on craigslist and I just had to have it. A cummins swap will definetly be in order. It has a swapped in 440 originally a 360. Supposedly the guy that had the truck built used to race NHRA and he used it to tow his race car.

Red interior which I dont care for but its in good shape, the springs in the driver side seat are kinda shot.

Yah defenitly the best of both worlds. My dad has a wrecked 95 cummins 2wd with a 5spd he bought to swap in his 91 crewcab ford but I dont think it will ever happen so I've been hinting towards the fact that I NEED that setup haha. With the divorced t-case should be a fairly simple swap.

What was professionally swapped in? Is it a 4x4 conversion?

Oh okay, was curious about it. I know that the Crewcabs were available in 4x4 Dually’s and long beds but I have not seen one yet in all the years I have been messing with them, and for a second there I thought you might have had a factory one. Still a nice one though.

I have searched and haven't seen any other crewcab dually 4x4's that weren't a conversion. Does anyone know if they did make these at the factory?

afaik there were no dually 4wd crew cabs. in the 80's, you couldnt even get a long bed 4wd. and you traded a 91 toyota for that? i officially hate you.

Now that is freaking sweat. Wonder how much lift that is, or any? I do believe my D350 crew would look good sitting right at that level  .
