seat pricing question

Postby dennhop » Wed Sep 15, 2010 7:30 pm

how much is a reasonable price for a working set of 93 captain's chairs and center console. good working condition, with a rip in the seat cushion on the drivers side?

Again, why I was asking what sounds reasonable. I know the second Gen seats go for about that, and since its captains chairs not a bench seat...if that sounds unreasonable, I'd appreciate some input other than an emoticon.... thanks

Price usually depends on condition. You say it has a rip in it. That takes the value down some. I don't know what they are worth. I will admit, ellis93's  made me laugh. Just struck me funny. Good luck with the sale.

Touche. I am a little lost on pricing right now though...I bought a set of second gen seats for 250, and they had a slice on the leather of the center console portion. Kind of why I didn't think that asking 200 for them didn't seem too unreasonable, since it seems that captains chairs aren't all that readily available, and since a lot of people want to get rid of their benches and go withchairs of sorts, having a set of 1st gen captains chairs to put in would appeal to those who want to keep the truck somewhat original, or with minimal mods

Bud I didn't mean to piss u off. Just thought it was a little high. They might be captains but they are cloth and have a rip. Does the console have the cup holder bottoms.

Sorry about that....I've had posts on 3 forums that I haven't had any replies on, and I got a guy that might be interested in buying, and I don't want to be the a hole naming some stupid high price. The cupholders do have the bottoms in them; other than the rip in the seat, everything else is in great shape. No stains on the upholstery, the armrests are solid, and rotate, and the hinge, shock, and release lever for the passenger seat all work perfectly. I also pulled out both entire factory seatbelts that came with them, and with the exception of one seatbelt bolt and the lower mounting bracket for the shock support (it was welded to the floor) I have all the rest of the mounting hardware and bolts to go with them. So, maybe 200 with the seatbelt assemblies also, or 150 for just the seats?

I bought a pair a few years ago for $125 or $150, no console, but the seats were in great shape.

2ndGen stuff is often overpriced.

FWIW, years ago, actually decades ago when I worked at the local auto wreckers, any seats that didn't immediate sell or had any rips, blood stains, received rain because of a missing window or door, or had embedded glass went straight to the crusher.
