Turning an aftermarket grille to OEM

Postby PJ 3 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 5:37 pm

I removed the lettering from my smashed OEM grille and stuck them on the aftermarket one that I installed on my truck with 3M double sided tape........it looks like an OEM grille ! I'll post a pic tomorrow. A cheap way out with the factory look !

Can't wait for pics.

Another route I am thinking about is getting them airbrushed on.

Thanks guy's. Dar, those rims are just Ford factory take off's with Hancook MT's wraped around them. I still have the OEM dog dishes but removed them when I bought the truck new.

I plowed with a 89 that had a sander in the back and those same tires. The truck was usless. For some reason some trucks just don't get good traction. That was one usless plow truck.

To tell you the truth Dar I drove into a buddy of mine's camp one night and he freaked out watching the snow pile up on the top of my hood......mind you it was quite fluffy. The drifts across the road were about 4 to 5 feet deep and the old girl just chugged through them like nothing ( with weight on the back ). I really don't know what year the wheels are.....all I know is that the fella that gave them to me said that they were Ford factory take off's. He was tired of looking at them in his garage so he gave them to me.....A great find when I was restoring my truck !

Its funny that 2 of the same trucks can have different outcomes in the snow but have come across that many times. Some trucks you cant stick and others won't move.

It's all about conditions..........It was the first snow of the season so I had a gravel base underneath ! I have seen the truck caught in 3 inches of wet snow with no weight in the back... USELESS !
I used to carry a set of chains under the seat but they retired since I stoped driving in the winter.
