interiors

My first gen leave a lot to be desired in the way of interior. I will be looking around the junk yards for some good Leather seats and a center console to put in. And after I repair some minor damage to floor pans I want to install carpet. The plastic/fiberboard trim pieces and headliner backing board aren't holding up so well after years wear and tare either. The plastic corner surrounds don't seem to fit so well and interfere with seat belt retraction and I don't have any panel that goes again the cab of the cab, behind the seat. Really the list goes on.

Does anyone have any example of custom headliner, molding and interior panel for our truck? Would love to see some and get some ideas. I was thinking I might have to try my hand at fiberglass and make own trim. A guy could use the existing panels as a mold.

I was thinking about installing a second gen seat like out of a 01, one with a fold down console. Wonder if they'd work.

I think work is a tricky word, if the seat is not to wide for the cab you can make anything " work " if you
want to put alittle effort in it, but it may involve making brackets and other stuff, one day i also mite
look at installing a 60/40 with a fold down arm rest, but my list is way to long to even think about it.

I was worried about the way the seat angles back. Would it be to close to the steering wheel. Would it have to be sitting straight up...etc.

I have RC buckets in my regular cab. I don't like them, I'm jammed against the steering wheel and they only slide about 2 notches. I'm watching for a 2nd gen seat, it's 2-3 inches thinner in the back cushion than the RC seats. I measured my 97 seat for a comparison. Lots of guys have put 2nd gen seats in, they fit ok. You just have to fab the mounts a little.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
