Set to 21*. Seems pretty happy there. I did have to hook up the grid heaters as its grumpier to cold start than the VE.

Overall it runs so much nicer. And cleaner besides. The VE had a good run, but at 325k miles was pretty tired.

Have you looked at afc live any? Are the 215 pumps the only ones that retard timing at higher revs?

21*? Really? I had my 97 set at 18, then dropped it to 14 to try to get better mileage. Which didn't work, btw. I saw no difference in the way it ran at either setting.

4k governor spring in it when I got it, a #10 little less fuel by Pete plate, then I had Eric flow hone the injectors to 40 horse. 4 inch downpipe to 5 inch all the way, and in summer I pull the pipe and put stacks on it. The thing runs ok, it's the god awful fuel mileage that's killing me. I expect a full size diesel truck to get 16ish around town, maybe 18-19 on the highway, summer fuel. This POS gets low 16 when I baby it, 13-14 average summer for any type of driving, and winter it's down to 11's

Whats the truck weigh? 4.10 or 3.54, does your auto drag gears out? What stall?

Yes i actually made my own before i sold my 2001 ppump truck. Found a local supplier of micro air pressure/flow regulators.

215 pumps at stock rack travel will retard. Set up right, past stock rack they can actually advance timing like 6*

Yeah 21*. It really screams up top, but that could just be me comparing it to a VE

About 6k. 3.54, not really, doesn't seem like it. The trans is a new rebuilt that I bought. I didn't have time to do this one before I needed the truck due to weather so I got a trans from a local guy. Not sure I like the way it shifts either. Not sure on stall, better than stock. It didn't do well with the old trans either, I've been complaining about it for years.

Power Wagon, sorry about jacking the thread!

Thats cool powerwagon, built not bought :)

Makes me curious Pete, I know P pumps take significantly more power to turn than VEs and are static (mostly?) timed. Thats just such a big difference from what most 12v guys seem to get.

At warm idle is there any smoke at all?

Your TC go into lockup alright? 6k is all kinds of light to get sub 15 mpg :|

Not much smoke since I had the injectors done, it hazed bad before. It locks up fine, hits hard and locked!
Maybe more than 6k, 2500, ex-cab long bed. 7500? I don't actually know. I filled up this morning, with morning warm ups of 5 -10 minutes it got 12.5 last tank. Plus it was cut 1/3 with kerosene, which I know doesn't help.
