From the pictures, the fan looks pretty darn close to the radiator...how much clearance is there, 1/2"-1"?

Fuzz over a 1/2 inch, but thats gonna change some. I'm gonna loosen the core support and slide those fenders ahead some, hopefully that'll get it about just shy of an inch.

That is pretty close. Do you think you'll have any interference between them when its running?

Not that I "think". I doubt it'll make any difference,is close but not close enough that it gives me the heebee geebees. I'm spacing the finders out right now and hopefully I can gain another 1/4 or so.....I figure that'll be good enough.

The only other person that I've ever seen that put a truck together as fast as I did is Ellis.

I've done two conversions (frame off) that took less than a month from start to finish. Has this even taken this long?

Man I ain't finished yet.....the long time is gonna be in paint. this thing has got to be STRAIGHT !!! I ain't having wavy bed sides,I hate that and these trucks show that the most thanks to that hard body line. It'll be a real beootch too.

This is the fifth Chevy I've pulled apart to nuts, bolts and a huge pile of parts since I was 14,it ought to be easy. Only two things is different this time, diesel motor and newer than 79.

Oh and I haven't painted frame or replaced the horrid front end parts either  but for two weeks of 2hrs in the morn and 3 at night,I think I've done pretty good. Just think if I could use my weekends on it  I'd be done

Ike is the one that put a whoopin on a rebuild, that dude slung his truck together in short order. :salut:

Lol well I've built many over the years so it helps me. Fastest I've ever done a full truck from ground up and piles of parts was a week. Converted a 2wd ford F-250 to 4x4 painting frame, building engine and redoing all the front end and brakes. I've rebuilt small block 302's in 24 hours and that's pulling thm, building and reinstalling. I was once big on Ford's and still like them. Its the GM crap that kicks my ass.

Amen brother!

I had that black truck apart in under a week. Sure is a lot easier going that way

I should have had mine done a lot faster, since I have a concrete pad to work on, progress hinged on weather. Then there was the short parts wait.....then I F'd up my leg....that set me back a month. I wanted to take it to MMillers, but just wasn't in the cards. Andy rebuilt his ride like a boss! It's good to see a few builds going on though ;)

The speed should have never been spoken of :opps:
I got a touch of the food poison, stopped at the choke and puke down the road from the shop and bought a chicken strip box dinner about 5:30 last night and ate it at the shop.....I worked an hour and half then commenced to puking my guts up :puker:
I'm sick as a dog....... :pukel: if it ain't coming out one end,its coming out the other

Build to be continued :(
