I'm healed

Well fellers!...... I started on it again

Made some progress on it too

Got the a/c all plumbed, ready for vacuum, oil, then freon

Yes.....that's hose clamps, believe it or not, they work. Also those lines were a major PITA to push on those fitting.

Got the air box from the dodge truck fitted, and a tube made.

I'm in the process of relocating the fuel filter now. Made a bracket to mount it to the brake booster,I figure to make it work with the planed hydroboost swap (in the future....long time from now  )
Image
Also used a fuel pump delete from a 24valve to keep the injectors return line as is

tomorrow night I work on bed and then turning a 4x8 sheet of plate into a fuel cell.

Yep,I probably run it some before paint :D

Got to measuring out the plate to build the fuel cell out of,I'll have 0 waste if I build it 48x24x12. Problem with that is it'll hold 60gallon  . That's alot of money at the pump :(

Also was figuring on how much it'll weigh out....tank and fuel. 60gallons of fuel x 1.8 pounds per gallon is 108lbs, the tank will probably weigh in at another 120lbs,fittings might be a couple of pounds.

With this 230lbs lying in the bed....where should I bolt it down?

Being that Cummins is hanging in this trucks nose my gut reaction is to put it as close as I can to the tail gate, but at the same time I'd like to use the bed as well. That fact says I should shove it between the wheel Wells.

What do y'all think? :)

Yeah.....I figured as much,it'll be put in with it's center a few inches rearward of the axles center. I need a little room back there

You may want to check yourself. Diesel weighs 7 and change per gallon.

60 gallons x 7 lbs/gallon = 420 lbs You'd be well north of 500 lbs taking into account the tank.

Traction will not be an issue

7.15 pounds per gallon. That's 429 lbs you will be between 550-600 pounds. About a 1000 was perfect for traction in my dually so it should hook for you.

I just went back to the site I visited early this morning and that weight is for one liter of diesel. Damn metric trash, why in the crap would you put a pound measurement behind a liter measurement. Makes sense to me that if your weighing out a liter of something, your more than likely going for grams in weight.
That's too damn heavy, gotta find some foam  I'm almost finished with the tank :x

Are you using the foam for fuel or to make the tank out of? :?

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Pete, the foam is space filler. JMS (mustang place, builds fast turbo cars) uses it to keep the fuel from sloshing around, away from the fuel pumps in those mustangs. I asked about some today and they where out of it.....i said oh well and finished up the tank without it. 60gallons it is  I'll post some pics in a few,I forgot to take one of it finished tho

You have to watch that foam the diesel fuel eats some of it and causes all kinds of headaches.

Ellis, I was joking because you were complaining about the weight and then the next line was you had to get foam. ;) You could have put in a few baffles, or put in a tube under the filler to prevent sloshing out the top with holes in it to let the fuel thru.
