Alrighty then..... with work being like it is,busy as he'll,I'm only getting to work on the body for maybe a hour a day. So far the passenger side is done,as far as body work and etching primer goes. Now I've started on the hood and driver side.
Pics in the morning or sometime tomorrow

Edit....screw it I just went ahead a loaded them up

Thanks

The side wasn't bad to do,but.....this hood is killing me. Dang weak metal is popping in and out and causing low spots here and there. I can't put pressure where I want cause it'll belly the surface. :?

I'm fixing to bust out the discover card and buy a cowl hood.....and piss the wife off at the same time. That's what I call multi tasking

Silver or that satin black, haven't made up my mind yet. It really makes more since to me to just satin black it and wait for the rust to pop back up. I already know that some will do it,every Chevy I've done like this has always had a spot or two come back up.

Andy,it's not out of the question. I could paint it that and have someone airbrush you face in a mural on the tail gate.

I think I'd have you painted up like a mermaid or something, with full frontal nudity

Take some spray can primer a different color and mist over the gray, then sand it. That will show any high or low spots. And quit leaning on the hood!

From your own mouth (fingers in this case) I've heard stories of the highly crazed women you attract and I would be the first to worry about anyones personal safety riding in a truck with a mural of you on the back

Pete..I ain't pressing hard, hell I'm using those durablock things to get her flat but the metal of that hood is just to thin. If I pressed any lighter I might as well just stare the bondo flat

I never used those. I use a paint stirrer or small board with the sand paper wrapped around it and just light pressure. It seems to work ok, but then I hate sanding bondo so much that I limit myself to bodywork projects so I can forget how bad they are by the time I do the next one.

I gotta good deal on the blocks w/paper,for the amount of paper it was like getting the blocks for free.

I got a little further on it today. It's not perfect but feels like the primer/surfacer will take up the slack now ;)

Pete, during high school I had a little "internship" with a body shop. My dad and I couldn't (mostly my fault) get along in the shop so I took a breather and tried this work out......today,yeah,it still sucks balls
