I have no idea. I'm thinking it could be as it would essentially do the same as our first gen stuff....lower and raise the tip, therefore altering the depth of the spray hitting the piston bowl. The washers I have on the new injectors are the same as what came out and tip length looked to be the same.

The fact of the matter here is the timing has been off with this engine since the beginning of the ve install. That was my guess when I started fooling with it and adding the M&H timing spacer later helped in that regard. Basically masking the real issues I was having to begin with......now,it's painfully obvious I have to jump another tooth and start the tuning of the afc.

I drove it some this morning and while it hazes at idle and pukes smoke like a coal fired train (and the timing being off) it hauls serious balls......but is dangerously hot on the egts. First time I've ever punched it and spun both rear tires running 50mph.

Might be Monday before I tinker with it again,I'll post when I do.

Sounds like you will have a nice little runner after you get the timing straightened out.

Jumped a tooth on the timing this morning and it runs better.....still hazes at an idle and throws a nice grey cloud under heavy throttle. The cloud is fine, the haze is not. One other thing popped up,under heavy throttle....above 2700 I have a horrible surge/jumping......I believe I've went too far with the timing so I'll be retarding the pump in the slots fully to combat that. If that doesn't work then that M&H timing spacer has to go away.

Backed the pump back off some using the slots......it's bottomed out, retarded. It fixed most of the surge or it felt that way before it started missing. Sounded like compression leaking by,and I figured it would have been an injector washer by the way it sounded and where the noise sounded like it was coming from.....but by the time I got the valve cover off to check and started the motor,it stopped. Wth
I'm pulling the carrots out and sending them off to be pop tested by an actual injector shop before I go any farther. That haze and chunky idle has to go and I don't feel like fooling with them any longer.

Lots of stuff has changed. I've ditched the nozzles I bought and now have Eric's injectors in and trucks running great. It's hot.....bad hot if you run it wide open for even a minute. There's no where near enough cool air being pushed in the engine now from the little wh1c. Hooking the waste gate back up should help some.....just gotta get time to do that. I doubt seriously it takes care of the heat but maybe it'll ease it up some.
Most of the fuel knock/timing knock is gone that's been there since the engines conception. I believe the engine wants more timing but before I add even more I need to get the air flow situated.
The trans seems to be agreeing with the new power.....yet the converter is a spongy as ever. Tho it is holding with its rubber band feel lol

I'm in heavy thought over the turbo. Still like the thought of staying with the holset line of turbos but Eric has a deal on a Borg unit that is almost to good. Much to think about

Glad the new sticks helped it.

Yeah they helped a ton. Now I just need to cool them off. I can't even get close to running the truck to its full potential with this turbo and those injectors. I hooked the waste gate back up today and it did nothing for it.

Another turbo in hand. Hx40.......62/65/16cm housing. Going to install as is and machine a 12cm housing while I tinker with the turbo as is.
The 16cm housing may be a little sloppy on the low end but I want to see first hand.

I lack motivation to even go start my truck. Glad to see someone making progress.

Yeah, I'm waiting for it to cool off myself.
