The wife had some back surgery but I finally got to hideout in the red fortress of solitude.

Crew came out of the barn to install bed, throw 300 pounds in the back for fuel simulation and get some leaf measurements to get her leveled out.

It was really dumb luck that we even got to talking about diesels. I got from fan to bellhousing less pressure plate and disc . We had to tow a chevy out of the way to get to it and use a comealong to pull the chevy back in the garage but I got it. I told him it would be easier to scrap the chevy. :D

The goal was to have the chassis boxed, blasted and painted before winter but time is gonna be tight. Sold my P Ranger and got my grandpa's 62 Willys from my dad but sure enough he let it sit too long and now my free jeep has cost me an engine rebuild along with the "might as well replace this while I'm here" stuff. Gotta have a plow vehicle so I have to get it finished up before I get back to the crew.
I should use the guilt of no progress as motivation huh?...LOL

Bout dern time...The wife ended up having a second back surgery and she still aint right, Ive had to pretend I'm a good husband for way too long.

Got in a load argument with a custom rifle and had to do a full rebuild on the Jeep engine..... I finally had a day to do Ford truck stuff..wooohoooo!!!!!

Faster and more dependable due to the Ford blue engine: LOL

I got one of the XM's made today and got the rear axle back in. Need the front axle and engine assembly to start working on a skid plate.

This is probably going to be a landing spot for a torque arm so I'm going to wrap the lower end with some 3/16 or 1/4 to add a bit of strength.

Holes on top are for rear cab mounts and the side pic shows how where I sleeved the frame. I was gonna kill a bunch of drill bits so a small mag drill/cutter set has been ordered. I can sharpen the smaller ones good enough but I had a heck of a time trying to sharpen a 13/16's.

So...I got "IT" handed to me on this project. While admiring my work when I boxed the frame I noticed the passenger side right where my new X member was placed...well it was kinda crooked. So the truck had been hit at some point. I had to remove the engine mounts and x member. I got her fixed and then I just ran out of motivation and parked it for a while.

So now it's been back in the barn for a while and been pecking at it now and then. Ive had the engine dangling for about 3 weeks now so I gotta get something done.

Decided to make the engine mounts removable.

Image

This allowed me to get more clearance for the TC.

Image

I was also able to move the I/C toward the rear to get it in behind the grill. Which moved the radiator as well. Which means the engine had to move back as well. Which means the engine will be moving back into the cab. Which...god only knows what's next.

Bottom I/C supports.

Image

Mods needed for radiator. Been working on a plan with the guys at Ron Davis. Waiting for CAD and my approval. Will be a dual pass with inlet and outlet on the passenger side and all brackets for shroud and core support attachment points. The driver side will have to be tapered left to right and front to back to clear the steering box....Sheeesh!

Image

Til next time and hopefully it wont take so long for an update.
