I gotta say I really appreciate all of the input. Thanks everyone.

I think that I could lower or raise the engine but the bottom line is that the cab is in the way of bringing the TC upward. It is just too tall. I remember talking to Advance Adapters that they said the Dodge and Ford TC's were clocked differently. I'll have to research that a bit more.

I had planned on doing a custom console so I guess modifying the floor really isn't a big deal and I could bring it way up. Crud, I need to just get on a creeper and lay there and think about it for a while. And not fall asleep.

Didn't the 72 Ford 4WD come with a divorced 205 transfer case? I think I would have gone for something in that direction. 6BT-> 2WD Dodge 46 or 47RH-> custom driveshaft-> early Ford divorced transfer case-> stock length driveshafts-> to axles. This would have eliminated the frame notching for the transfer case.

Yes they were divorced and I do have one. Just trying to eliminate as many weak links as possible. I do have all these parts so I'm going to give it a go.

BobS, thanks for the degree info

Looks damn good, going to keep the box on the back? Would be a damn cool chase/rescue truck.

I sold the work bed and found a pretty nice shortbed that I picked up in TN.
I have to build small addition to my barn so I gotta take a break for a week or two. CC needs to be relocated.

I like this truck! from what I've researched the 205 is a weaker case, better off with one of the others. There is an adapter available to mount a married 205 to the rh also.

Welp...it's in there finally. I have to do some measuring cause I had to shift the engine to get it in....so hopefully I can get everything lined up.

Spent a bunch of time trying to work the engine further to the passenger side and promptly ran into the stock CM. I knew I would have to trim it and box but the more I thought about it, it seemed the best thing to do is just remove and reconfigure the CM.

Out comes the cut off wheels and plasma.

So I got some welding gloves on and I'm running a cup brush cleaning the grime off the inside of the frame when that slippery little sucker jumps right out of my hand...bounces off the back of my hand and onto my leg. I then leaped onto the floor gathering every cord and air line in sight. For a moment I though"sooner or later it will probably bind up and blow the circuit breaker. Nah, I better go get it. I never felt anything warm running down my leg and them Wrangler are pretty tuff, scuffed but not torn. Now that was fun.

I'm going to use a piece of 5x5 tubing to build the CM and have to figure out how to combine the engine mounts into it but I'm pretty sure I can get the engine over another inch. I'll post pics when I get that far.

Cummins space appears!!!

A piece of 2x4 or 5 heavy wall tubing will be plenty strong enough and more user friendly to work with than 5x5. Just an idea. ;) And glad the grinder didn't get you, they are worse than a junk yard dog that turns bad when they get loose! BTDT.

Projects not dead...I'm in the middle of expanding and remerchandising my hardware store..ugh...again

I found a 3x9 or 4x10 piece of tubing at the JY(unbelievable) for $10.00 and got it somewhat notched for the engine. I won't have to add a thing to that puppy. I'll get back to this in the fall..I hope.

That T case is still going to be a problem unless I can find a high mount bracket for the AC pump. I cannot get the TC over far enough to gain back some frame.

I may be able to hook you up with a high mount AC bracket when I'm home from college over Thanksgiving possibly earlier....
