Lol if I could find a cheap Cummins donor is use it. This would give me a D60 and engine.

Hooray for the duck, :puker: on the joke.

I'll have a bunch of powerless-stroke parts on the floor at the end of the week,I'll holler at you and let you know what I have. I don't think the dude will want the old motor.

Dads is a decent work truck. This one has decent miles, a new trans and its 4x4. I figure the trans will be a backup for dads since I plan to stay 5 speed.

Andy.....I might have hit pay dirt for you today :)
I was in the conex box today and tripped over a solid flywheel/clutch/starter......only thing I do not know is if its off an idi or PS
If i'm thinking correctly.....they're the same fly but idk about the clutch.

Dam Ellis keep digging and see what else you have.

I went and looked at this today. I hope to be able to buy it. I may end up needing an oil pan. The one on it is a bit crusty like the rest of it. It was sitting out covered in snow in 19* weather and started on its own.

Andy that clutch disc fits your trans I have here so......I think it'll all work out for you.

And yes.....I'll keep looking around :) these thing use to be the bread and butter around here....oh and I have this core PS I'll be dropping out in the morning,if it's left here you'll have the oil pan you need ;)

As a side note......about 1 1/2 ago I did a "patch job" on this particular motor. The owner was out of a job and had very little money so I pulled 1 head and replaced the valves, lapped them in,and cut them to length/height. This thing had ran so long that the valves had worn themselves down to nothing but a sharp edge at their sealing surfaces. I am 100% positive it has done it again on the opposite side so....it could be a good motor if someone doctored the left head. Food for thought :)

I bought a superduty PS with 207K, I spent more in parts in it the I pay for it in the first year. Needless to say that will be the last ford I own! My dad's PS is a nice running truck but has alot of little thing going wrong lately.

All old trucks are going to have issues. I've always been a Ford and Dodge guy but my little truck needs to stay out of the salt. It looks like I'll be picking up that Ford tomorrow.

So other then a bad universal, a fuel leak and crappy mileage the psd runs okay. The salt has done a toll on it though. It will need manifolds and up pipes since they are rotted bad and a oil pan. I'm dripping fuel down the back of the block but nothing in the valley. I'll have to look into that tis weekend. I'll be lucky to get 12mpg its looking.
