throttle cable suggestions

Postby jethro » Tue Jul 14, 2015 11:57 pm

2004 ex-6 liter f-350 with zf trans.
Destroked says (website) that their throttle cable are out of stock.
any suggestions on what cable will fit ?
The destroked looks different than the stock ford.....
Anyone know if the destroked one is just an earlier ford unit ? Not sure what they are doing on the engine end though....

Lokar is a hotrod/speed company that makes lots of aftermarket and universal parts for hotrods, customs, etc. Most of there stuff is chrome or stainless steel, either polished or black, but there quality and worth the money.
I'm running a floor mounted pedal assembly with 48" throttle cable on my 6.2l M37. Other than having to custom machine/weld a cable end due to 6.2 having a weird throttle setup, it works great.
You can google them, surf summit racing, jegs, amazon, alot of places carry there products

Thanks ellis and matthew-
I shot lokar off an e-mail and asked them if they had one with the proper ends for my app.

Your welcome and sorry for being veig. Sometimes I take for granted that some folks haven't thumbed thru as many summit and jegs catalogs (drooling  ) as I have.

I actually found one at discount auto parts. It a general purpose cut to fit thing. reasonably well made- stainless braided sheath. an assortment of ends. like 27 $

Should work.

Found out through web that the dodge throttle cable had a safety recall for fraying and holding the throttle open....
but it appears that they have stopped making the repair kit when dodge re-organized.

The general purpose one. I've had them all fray and break where the end I hook to the pump is. I'm trying to find a better one.
