Okay you lost me. Why are you running a sump and then a half inch feed out of the factory sender?

Sorry that is the return on the sender. I drilled out the original feed and welded that pipe fitting in. Then I crimped off the original return. Both the original feed and return tubes were badly rusted inside. Hose fitting is 3/8" but I just made it so there was room to expand (1/2") if need be.

I asked about the gasket because I have a sump from Sinister Diesel, and the damn gasket swelled up and pushed out. I lost over 1/2 a tank of fuel.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

What was the gasket on your sump? That would suck.

It must have been rubber. It came with a black flat gasket, and a tube of Permatex clear silicone. I checked the silicone to see if it was diesel resistant, and the tube didn't say it was. I had the truck parked out back because it was hot so I was running the 2nd gen with AC for about a month. I pulled it up to the garage for something and noticed the gauge was below E, then I saw the wet tank and the dead grass out back. I drained just over a gallon from the sump, I'm surprised it made it to the garage. I cleaned everything, used Permatex black with no gasket, and let it cure for 2 days before I put fuel back in. It's been ok so far.

The truck looks sharp with those wheels. Makes it look like it's ready to go 4 wheelin'!

It seems the square oring is a much better design than a flat gasket.

Got the tires cleaned and shined. I think it turned out great. Slight rubbing full turn and they are louder than the engine
