Gauges

Postby rooney77 » Tue Apr 26, 2016 6:39 pm

I hope what I'm about to type makes sense. I'm swapping a 51 Ford F1 cab onto a 74 Dodge based Winnebago frame and powering it all with a 1990 Cummins and getrag from a D250. D250 was originally an auto. I'm also using the entire D250 wiring harness. Well I had hope to use the D250 gauges but I don't see a way to easily adapt them to the F1 dash without really cutting the dash up. So does anyone know of some round gauges I can use to replace the stock cluster?

For those who aren't familiar, the F1 dash had two round gauges. I don't mind filling those and going with smaller round gauges but real estate is limited. I'm wanting to keep a stock-ish looking dash. This is a severe budget build as well. I'd like to complete it at less than $5k all in.

This is the F1 dash. From the curved edge on the left of the dash to the 16" mark is what the stock D250 cluster would take up. Sorry the second one is upside down. My photographer isn't a tech whiz.

A guy here in town made this from a 1990 1 ton 2 wheel drive dodge cummins and a 1948 ford.

That 48 has an unusual hood. COE?

I hadn't considered using the entire surround and going that far over. I'll have to double check the dimensions. I do have a spare 51 dash so worst case I can fix what I screw up. It does give me options for storage if I eliminate the ac vents and make them canny holes.
