I'm looking for an online repair manual (read hopefully for free )for a 4l80e trans in a 97' GMC 2500 w/diesel. Anybody happen to have one or know where one is?

Well, I found one (ATSG), not for free, but I think I like the manual. I've almost got the trans hooked up again.

They're a fairly straight forward trans to build.
First one I did I installed a one-way roller clutch in backwards and had a 3/4 flare up. I remember to watch that now.

Well, i'm not out of the woods yet on this one. I got it back in but it won't shift out of first and no reverse. The trouble shooting page says to check the speed sensor, so i'm thinking its either that or some kind of valve body malfunction.

Always, always, always check the simple stuff. I forgot to hook up the shift linkage to the valve body. Problem solved. Another trans rebuild beneath my belt.
