The VP pump is a 3 piston radial pump vs the VE 1 piston axial pump. There is very little in common between the 2 designs.

just another note to add is that stanadyne had this pump first and threw it to th way side and said it wouldnt work then bosch got it and wouldnt let anyone work on it for the first 3 years it was out and it has a really really bad computer problem i have fixed 4 of them now it has 2 sensors that like to go out and give ppl problems they are 300.00 a censor and they also have a bad lubrication problem without an elec. fuel pump or a Fass system cuz the fuel pump is up by the motor and pulls fuel vapors rather than fuel in a liquad form and it breaks a diaphram in the pump and scars the inside walls plus they have the cam ring roller shoe design like a roosamaster/stanadyne

WOW! Now I know why they call you fasttalker! Next time try slowing down and adding some puncuation in there. It makes it really hard to read with out it. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Yeah it does!

My buddies 02 has pooped two in 110,000 miles, with dual lift pumps, and a edge w attitude, and 100HP injectors.

But he outruns my ass!
