At the place I work we have a 7.3 Powerjoke Cube van. Well, it was idling in the parking lot and just died. Being a diesel guy, they call me out.
Tried to start it, motor was turning over, but there was some funky clicking noise. When cranking, smoke was coming out from the oil filler cap. Did get it to start for a second or two and there was alot of whitish smoke from the tailpipe.
They took it to Ford and it was determined PCM reprogram, wiring harness' needed to be replaced and the glow plug relay was corroded.
So I have to ask, does any of that make sense? To me with a Cummins background, it does not make sense why the motor just shuts off.
Guess I am just looking for someone to explain what happened as I am a curious bugger.
