Drops out of Overdrive

Postby meby » Wed May 26, 2010 11:53 am

We have an 03 2500 Cummins for work that on the way home from a job today started dropping out of overdrive at random. It did it at both 60 and 70 mpg and was towing a light, empty trailer. Trans temp was 192* and the pda didn't show that it was slipping. The trans, an ATS with a Sun-coast triple disk converter, has roughly 100,000 miles on it. Fluids were changed less than 5,000 miles ago. Ambient temp was 88*.

What should I check for other than fluid levels?

Thanks,
Matt
