Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC

My awesome uncle gave it to me, what should I know? I can push a puddle, but my knowledge flutters much beyond that  Which electrode is best for what? I really like how 7018 handles.

DC seems to produce a better weld IMHO.

7018 are dc rods.....as far as I know, have been told. Any 6010/6011 rod is ac.

Most rods are AC/DC. If your not sure, double check the pkg and they'll give you an amp range and what power to use.
Typically, you run DC+ when your stick welding, provides a smoother arc, less spatter, etc. Your machine may not have a selector to give you the option between DC+ and DC-. If it doesn't, its wired for DC+.
If you want less penetration, run DC-, or in your case, use the ground as the stinger, and the electrode holder as the ground.
Play with the AC function though, its gotta wicked sound to it while welding, kinda mad scientist kinda sound
