Looking for a good 3/8 drive air ratchet

Postby GLHS » Fri Feb 19, 2010 3:12 pm

Anyone using a Snap-On Far7200 or similar? Where can I get a good buy on one? New or used.
Might be interested in a 3/8 drive impact gun too.
Just want something with some serious power.

I was thinking for any power, you'd have to step up to a 1/2" drive or better. I guess "power" is relative, though.

JMO if you get one with to much power you (WILL) smash your fingers every time you pull the trigger
mine is pretty cheap but does the job rather nicely, they really arent ment to break stuff loose,
i think your supposed to break it loose by turnning then pull the trigger. just a thought.

thats what the snap on guy told me, they dont make any that are recomended for breaking stuff loose, kinda handy for assembeling stuff quick but i use the dewalt electric drill for that makes stuff like oil pan bolts a piece of cake instead of 1/2 hr with a ratchet

I just found www.tooltopia.com the other day. Tons of tools and a wide selection of quality too. I was looking for a bar, the one I want goes from $15 for the cheap one to $65 for the S +K.
Don't get lost!

I've already got a Mac 1/2" impact. Just want something fast and small.
I have borrowed my friends IR 3/8" ratchet and it will kick the snot out of my current one; Craftsman.
He also has a cordless 14.4 volt IR that works well for small items.

I just use my impact guns for running bolts and nuts up. Just use a regulator or the knob on the tool to throttle it back. Usually use my little 3/8" butterfly impact I bought from John Deere years ago. Still working strong! :)
