I've done everthing I know to do. People are running bigger sticks and are able to control it. My pump isn't maxed either. My fuel screw still has the coller on it. The fuel pin spring, smoke screw and starwheel are the only changes I have left to make and I hope it works.

Thanks
Mike

When I bumped my timing I was about 1/4" from the head and about 1/4 above the mark. I think that should have been enough, any more than that and it didn't sound good. Like a box of rocks or a 6.5 chevy.

Not sure but I think I found the problem. This going to be hard to explain. I took out the fuel pin and I'm seeing somthing that I don't think is right. The line thats cutting on the pin goes past the deepest point on the pin to where the lines disappears and then starts to leave marks on the pin where it starts to get thicker again. First of all I think the pin was setting to deep and when I got into boost it went past the point where it should. The washer that ddp sent 0.65. Whats bothering me now is when I looked into bore where the pin goes I don't see that thing that leaves marks on the pin, I guess you call that a pin to. Is this normal? Is it possible that the fuel pin went too deep and broke that thing off? I'm no pump guru so if my questions sounds like I'm a novice, It's because I am.

if you want to see the small pin wack the throttle a few times with the cone (ddp pin) out

you didnt break it off

that is what i was suggesting, that your cone (now ddp pin) was too low

the stocker comes with a thick plastic washer to limit travel

i have never seen the ddp pin or 065 washer but it sounds like you need to do two things. one is get the pin up higher for a starting point (back out smoke screw / maybe grinding is required?) and shim that baby up so the small pin ends up in the deepest position of the cone

Thanks Don for the help.

I still have the stock washer and and I'm getting the stock spring. I know I'll have to make some adjustments but at least I think we found the problem.

Happy Thanksgiving

Yeah, I had it all typed when my wife called me in to see the Great Dane on the Dog Show, a half hour later I hit submit and Don had pretty much posted the same thing so I deleted it with the exception of you will have push it back in with a small screwdriver before you reinstall your cone. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving as well.

ddp pin

Postby Mike T. » Thu Nov 22, 2007 11:43 am

By the way those of you wanting to get an aftermarket fuel pin the ddp pin seems to be hard. I've had mine in for about a year and not much wear. It's not as hard as the stock pin but I think harder than some I've been hearing about.

Well I got the smoke problem corrected. I'm able to control it a lot better now. The spring that ddp sent was shorter and weaker than the stock spring. I'm not sure how many turns I can go on the smoke screw before I have to do a little grinding but I'm 2 turns now. Seems like the 330s that chuck sent back to me are putting out a bit more which makes me real  .

36 psi & 26 psi in valet mode. I think I'm going to have to hook up the waste gate. What do you guys think I have in the hp department? I'm guessing around 300hp
