Postby JQmile » Mon Jan 28, 2008 12:26 pm

The cheapest BHAF that I know of is here: http://www.fleetfilter.com/index.asp. Search for #2790. Get an Outerwears cover for it and it will last a long time. K&N's and other oiled filters are the cause of much debate. Some people (especially those in dry, dusty climates) don't like them because fine silt can get through the media and oiling the filter properly can be difficult. Don't know if there the cheapest, but the Donaldson brand of semi-truck mufflers is popular. These guys have all sorts of stuff for building BHAF's and exhaust systems: http://store.airflo.com/.

I've got a 4" Aeroturbine and love it. Its not as loud as straight piped, and its got a good deep tone. If you want a used muffler, I've got a Donaldson 4" that was on the truck for 6 months I was going to put in the classifieds.

I was thinking of maybe putting one of those 4 inch dynomax bullet mufflers on it, although they are as loud as crap at anything other than idle in gas cars. Only like $60 though. Is the Donaldson a straight through design? How much ya want for it?[/list]

I built a really killer soundin and cool lookin 6" setup for my truck for around 600 but i used some 5" clamp and flanges for my modular downpipe idea and thos were kinda expensive as for the intake all of my stuff came from airflo.com and it works great and looks good. they also have some really killer ic boots if you ever ic you truck.

It is a straight through design. Its really big, but the only difference between it and a straight pipe was the noise. EGT, boost, mpg and seat of the pants stayed the same. I did see a slight drop in egt when I put the aeroturbine on. I could probably ship it to you for $80 from the right coast to the left.
