Just wondering if anybody can explain why my egts at 60 unloaded went up almost 100 degrees after installing an hx40, coolertubez, and a bank$ intercooler with 3" fittings. Is it that the turbo isn't really doing anything at that load and rpm? Idle temps dropped about 75 degrees and it cools down a lot quicker.

GO OVRIT- you got it right. Unloaded, or light load, the turbo will actually give you less air and cooling than stock. But, get 'er under a load, and it'll keep her cooler than the stock turbo will. Joe Donnelley had a write up in the TDR a few issues back about this very subject.
