What kind of clamps are you using?

Do you have a bead around the pipes on the intercooler?

Are these straight couplings you're blowing or are they bent couplings?

Boost straps. Simply a piece of metal (I'm going with nice turn buckles) on each side of the pipe to keep them held together.

I have heard the same tip before, something about it causes them to soften up and stick to the tube once clamped.

Yeah it works, and it is a bandaid. But what's a guy to do with out a turnbuckle setup, and no welder??
Another trick if you have some skater punk kids around is to wrap some grip tape around the end of the pipe. Leave about a 1/4" of exposed pipe from the end, that way there is no chance of that abrasive crap getting into your charge system during reassemble. I've seen both used on 1k hp trucks. I won't say any names as some of you may look down on them. Lol

Sorry I didn't see where he said he tried it. The PVC cement really caught my eye.

And sorry for the double post. My smart phone is acting not so.
