BC, I drove all the way home from a drag strip one day with a slipped boot. It popped off 3 times and I said to hell with it I'm going home. She was real smokey.

I actually built this mess so as to be somewhat modular in its construction and installation. OK, fine.

So, just recently when my Son and I did the final(ish) installation, during one of the many assembly's/disassembly's, (BC847-CSI Mode): my Son went to removing the secondary-to-IC tube assembly. He started out by loosening that particular band-clamp where I said "Whoa! Disconnect the secondary elbow from the turbo and loosen that band-clamp right there at the IC. That way, you can back the entire assembly away from the IC's nipple, lift it straight up, and remove the engine pipe assembly."

Yeah. I failed to ensure that first band-clamp was properly pulled back up. PEEooooofffffff !!

Got all that sorted out tonight. Drove it around for 37 miles. Flying blind at this point as my boost gauge is whacked. Gotta fix all that next to see what about the waste-gate, etc.

Sings nicely. I wonder if my having the waste-gate start opening at 10ish psig is WAY too early. I've initially got the WG set to be full-open at 35psig. That has it start lifting the pucks at 10ish IIRC. Gotta get the drive-pressure, interstage-boost, and net boost sensors installed and working.

Gotta fix a pita oil leak (my screw-up).

And it's rained pretty much ever since I got the mess running.

Currently getting all the little pieces and parts sorted so I can pull it all apart one more time to fix a couple of oil leaks, replace a couple of ill fitting v-band clamps on the primary down-pipes (I broke both originals . . . . don't ask  ), replace the stupid-big and clunky pressure sensor tubing fittings crap I got at Lowe's, . . . .. . .

I'm pretty sure my waste-gate is opening WAY too early.

. . . . soon . . . . .

So my %@#*& intake-log boost gauge is somehow whacked. It started acting erratically some months before I parked the truck for the trips.

It's part of the ISSPRO Performax system that I run. This system includes a basic DATA-logging feature that is a tremendous tuning tool. I only use a Trans temp, Fuel pressure, EGT, and Boost gauge of the system. However, I've additional sensors that, in addition to the former, let me see the primary output pressure, the secondary output pressure, and the drive-pressure via the live DATA-logging display on my lap-top.

Doing diagnosis this weekend suggests something's up with the main processor. All the associated wiring checks out and I have a second pressure sensor to swap with the original. Using a regulated supply of Nitrogen, I can apply pressure to the sensor and get nothing on the gauge or the laptop display.

Crap. Gotta call ISSPRO Monday.

The thing is over six years old IIRC. They've done a number of upgrades to it since I bought this one. As such, I'm sorta limited on updating it. I sure hope my current guages are compatable with a newer processor if need be.

Crap.

Reset the waste-gate from an initial cracking open @ 10ish psig, to 20ish psig.

Brought the WOT EGTs down 100* to 1350*f.

Still working on it . ..

Man..to borrow a Nor'eastern buddy of mines favorite sayings. That thing sounds wicked pissah! I'm gonna have to look into that Isspro system by the way. It sounds like a great gauge/data logging system for our trucks. When you get it fixed and those tripples dialed in it'll sure be interesting to see what/how your interstage/overall boost & drive pressure, and egt's compare to the old twin set-up. Great to see/hear it all finally coming together man.

I was eventually able to talk with Micheal w/ISSPRO. He's the engineer for the PerforMax line. He agrees, my processor is whacked. :(

It's for the better I guess as the newest processor includes a number of those items I made work for me, incorporated. Further, they now include an air temperature sensor/gauge. I'll just use the sensor in the engine charge-air intake tube so as to see the final air temp going into the engine.

And best of all, the new processor includes inputs for tachometer and vehicle speed. Micheal says I simply piggy-back the processor's input lines on the tach and VSS lines ~ NICE!!!

My Son is coming over in the morning to help (read: DO) complete the loose ends of the main install. 8)

It's suppose to be in the low 90s with the same in humidity. Chance of rain. :(

Glad to hear you are making progress on it. Have you started doing any tuning yet?

Got the air-filter plumbing 99% complete. Gonna have to come up with a different radiator reservoir.

Still gotta better work out the band-clamps on same.

No tuning thus far. Stupid boost gauge in fact is defective. New one should be here Tuesday or so. With that, I'll go ahead and get on with sorting the telemetry sensors and stuff.

At the rate this thing has been cooperating, based on the current trends, I'm in the short rows of completion. Should be complete in a year or so.

Already gotta refinish the inter-stage Wye-pipe. Clearly I screwed something up.

Thanks, Joe. 8)

Been HOT and rainy lately slowing an already painfully slow progression. Got a few things more toward complete.
- 95% complete with the charge-air plumbing.
- 95% complete with the anti-chafe stuff.
- 98% complete with the air-filter plumbing.
- Got the main boost gauge working.

https://youtu.be/ytXt8mDuOQE

It seems to jump pretty good with no real tuning just yet.

I reckon this week (weather permitting) I'll essentially reinstall the gauge system wiring so as to best fit the new install.

Soon. . . . . . . . . . LOL! Who am I kidding!?
