Yes, I can. Just not right now... I'm up in the bearing sea right now. I should be home in a few weeks. I'll get that video when I get back, although to actually do it wide open, I'm not sure I can without a meltdown... As you can see from the other video, I get hot fast in the current configuration. I sure am excited for new parts though!

Another question, since I'm wasting all my money that probably would be better spent on repairs for my snowmobiles... I have the non intercooled engine, and the internet tells me the head is definitely cracked. Should I get a new head while I'm at it? Or run what I have until it's a problem? Odometer stopped at 175,000 miles, but I don't think it's got more than 200k now... What say you?

9mm heads are always cracked! That's why they went to the 7mm hole when they went to intercooled engines. The thing is, are they cracked into the water jacket or thru the valve seat? It's hard to tell, since a magna flux test only shows a crack, not how bad it is. IMO, if it wasn't using water or oil, put it on and run it until you have a problem.
If you want to spend the money, then buy a head, how much you spend is up to you, do you want a ported head? Or just a stock replacement? ;)

I know they are always cracked! I read it on the internet so it has to be true! I'm not having any issues, yet.... I think I'll wait. I've been looking at heads, they want some money for them! Would I lose out on the low end power with porting? I think I read I would. What about cams? I want to keep my low end grunt, but I kinda only want to take it apart once...

 I can't answer that about the ported heads, I don't remember reading it anyplace. Porting helps flow, so I'm kinda skeptical about that being true. As for a cam, I know the Hamiltons help on the bottom end, at least 1 guy posted on here how his truck has more down on the bottom after putting one in.

Do you know which one? I'm thinking I may as well do it since I'll be in there doing the harmonic balancer, kdp/case bolts, and studs and springs up top... Got my work cut out for me when I get back.

Alex did a 188/220. He has a thread on it, "cam swap" by ahale2772. Quite a bit of info in there. You need the 24 valve lifters also.

Thanks! Looking on Eric's site, it looks like I want the cast version for a drop in install? (It looks like there's three different 188/220 cams...) He rambles on about piston and valve protrusion... How do I check that? I'm assuming it can't be done with the head on?

Pretty sure not. From what I have heard, you pull the head, (new cam installed), put some modeling putty or something on the piston, put the head on no gasket, bolt it down then turn the engine over by hand. Pull the head back off and measure where the valve hit the putty. That's the clearance, or valve protrusion. If you have any questions ask him, he's a good guy. I recommend him to tons of people.

Run it does! I think VE pumped trucks sound so much better than p pumps, maybe it's the timing sweep I don't know. Was that a 3rd gear burn?

It does sound sweet! Yup, dumped the clutch in third then had to pedal it a bit to keep the revs down. Broke loose again when I grabbed 4th, then hooked and went! Sadly, it was a one tire fire....
