370's, or 435's??

Postby dodgetkboy78 » Mon Apr 07, 2008 9:12 pm

I will be getting some injectors kinda soon, to replace the POD's in my 92 D350.
Mostly it tows, and is a run around truck, but, I like power!

Question is, whats the difference, and what will work best for me. It has a stock turbo, w a 16cm housing, the pump is 3/4 turn from runaway, wheel down, custom pin, smoke in all the way. Its a 5speed,. with 3.54's
It also runs hours and hours at a 1100rpm idle in the winter.........sometimes days..........
But I like power.
and lots of power.
But all I really like, serious, is power............no, really

I just have to keep it reliable.

Do you have a pyro? I don't think you could even tow heavy with the 370's with a stock turbo and keep things cool. Heck I don't know how you were doing it with POD's. If it wasn't a tow machine I'd say 435's, but with that said they will out fuel your setup quickly and melt stuff easily with a trailer behind them. It would take twins to make 435's towable.

I already have a pyro, before and after the turbo. (toggle switch) And it runs pretty cool kinda, with the POD's. The way I pull a trailer, with them, is I regulate my temp with my foot, thats all. But it runs around 1200 max in the right RPM range, with my foot in it all the way.
It's just over about 2500rpm, or lugging it when it gets dangerous.

What kind of turbo do I need then, to push more air to get more fuel to make more power without spitting the tops of my pistons on the guardrail?

62/65/14 S300 and some cool tubz would work if you tune the pump accordingly.
