Postby mprmn08 » Fri Apr 11, 2008 12:16 pm

Will it work? I have a 90 W250 and i got a turbo off a 94. Will it bolt up with out and major mods to anything? Im kinda new to the diesel stuff so not really sure. Any input would be great. thanks guys.

According to Internet lore, "that turbo will bolt up, but will require you to move the downpipe back around an inch".

You will also need to run a line from your intake manifold on the head to the wastegate controller.

The 94's used a H1C turbo just like the one already on your truck. The only difference is the exhaust housing. It used a smaller exhaust housing. Other than the smaller housing it isn't an upgrade.

Ahhh, well not quite.

You have a 90. this mean that it came of the Assembly line with out an intercooler.

You 90 has a much smaller compressor wheel and a large Non waste gated housing(vary slow spool up!)

The 94 will be a kick in the pants but, it is not a direct bolt up.

First you need to move the ext back 1/2 to and inch as Begle1 has already said(so people have problems with this....and some don't)

2nt, in the turbo inlet is 4" on the 94 were as your, is only 3"

next is the compressor outlet, Yours goes over the valve cover, the 94 when to the intercooler first and then to the intake.

It all depend on how much work you want to put into it!

You can clock the compressor housing so that it point to you crossover pipe, grind it down a bit and us a different boot too connect its crossover..............OR

OR.........You can do what i did!
