4000 rpm?

Postby seeker1056 » Thu May 22, 2008 7:12 pm

Hi all

I know this may have been discussed on some other forums but I cant find anything here

What spring(s) or tweaks to springs is used to let the Ve hit 4000+/- rpm

Or is this top secret info?

I am thinking along the lines of trying dual springs - one inside the other??

Can one have too much spring? Or can enough spring be installed to let us drive the motor instead of pedal to the metal so to speak

thoughts? or solutions from those actually been there done it

I believe that PDR used to sell a 4200 rpm spring. I believe Bgilbert tried one and hated it maybe he will post about it. I think that you just have to install a little stiffer spring than the 366. You are just looking for rpms for sled pulling right?

I am about to try a 4000rpm spring in my pump. On DTR there is more info. If you search Bgilberts posts as mentioned above on the DTR you should find his info. I hope my pump will react better. Once I get it back and on the truck i'll try to help you out.

the asembly that is in a vw ve pump allows much higher rpm's than just the spring in a cummins ve pump , whether it's the 3200 rpm spring , or 4200 rpm spring .......

just might need to tinker a bit to make it work .
