1400 rpm is stock for a C6 diesel convertor
Truckpulling makes it easy to lite a charger - all the sled weight and rpm comes on fast cuz your spinnin on the clay

Yeah you shouldn't have a problem spooling the small chargers you have. I was talkin a big charger such as an s400 variety as a single or in twins would probly never spool with a 1400 stall.

So it's a 1400 RPM rated stall, but it doesn't really stall that low?

I've seen a few high-dollar torque converters out there made with billet internals to have the strength to hold stalls a lot lower... I think that you could spend nearly $2000 on a non-lock-up converter from Goerends with a real 1400 RPM stall, no?

Any stall rating is a best guess at what it will actually do. Varying conditions (uphill, downhill, loaded/towing, etc.) will affect the actual stall speed of the converter. I have no doubt that you could get a converter that would stall at 1400 in a sled pull scenario, but you wouldn't want it to do that. It takes rpm and load to get a large turbo(s) to light. I would expect that an actual stall speed of at least 2000 rpm would be necessary to get a good sized set of turbos going. On Comp Diesel, I've seen some of those guys talking about stall speeds in the 2500 to 3000 rpm range (it helps that they have P-pumped motors that are capable of 4500rpm+ engine speeds).

Stall has a lot to do with the power you are puttin to it. More power = higher stall. As stated above stall ratings are a crap shoot. I think stall ratings should be compared to factory specs Like 300 lower stall then stock ect..
