I have my 4 inch skyjacker lift on except ... I bought the new springs 6 inch in the rear and the box kit came with a 2 inch block now the guys who are installing the springs seem to think the block should go in .... I don't think it does..... anyone know for sure ????? thank you

It's kinda wierd that a set of 6's have a block, but alot of rear lift springs come with short blocks for pinion angle. Like for instance, my 12" skyjacker system for my chevy were 8" springs with a 4" block, and the normal 12's in the front.

Dont most 1stGens have a 4 or 6" block on the rear? My 3 or 4 4x4s have all had blocks of one sort or another.

The 6" rears match up with the 2 1/2" fronts, no blocks. They probably don't have an 8" rear, so they just throw in 2" blocks for the 4" kit. That would be my guess anyway, without knowing exactly what you ordered.

There should be a pair of shims to rotate the pinion up off the perch a few degrees and maintain a decent pinion angle.

blocks in the rear might sound like a hack but it helps keep the spring pack flatter and will ride better. blocks in the front are always a very bad idea..

The 92 and 93 trucks had the 6" factory blocks, so 2" blocks with 6" springs should get you level with 4" springs in the front. Stock they sit about 2.5" high in the rear.

It all depends on the kit you ordered bro...it's really hard to say without knowing the part number for the kit you ordered. I'd say it needs to be in there for the truck to sit right...otherwise you wouldn't have gotten it. All of the above posts bring up various points as to why blocks aren't so bad...I'm not a big fan of blocks, because I've seen them shatter...but it all really depends on how you're using it. It really sounds like you ordered the wrong kit...if you'd need 8" springs to make it sit level, they are out there...you can get anything with enough money.

For a professional answer, call 4wheelparts and ask for their tech support. If they don't know the answer, they'll call the manufacturer with you on the line. Excellent service from them every time I've worked with them.
