Scheid EDM 6x.016's vs. stock 7mm 6x.009's.

Finally slapped some injectors in my 91.5 auto truck. Back in August at the Scheid event I pulled the Scheid 6x16's out of the auto truck and put them in the 89. It's been sitting without injectors since then   . Of course I oiled the cylinders real good and turned it over every so often. Anyways thats not the point of this thead.

To limit the rusting of the cylinder walls, I finally installed a set of stock 7mm injectors. Previously with the same setup, (366 spring, max advance timing, no afc lever, piston lift pump, big supply line, Pro52) it would peg the 60psi boost gauge. Now with the stockers it gets up to 30psi   . Just thought I'd share how much fuel a good set of injectors can give you.

WOW!!! I am surprised it made that much difference bill, any guesstimate on how much HP 30+ PSI of boost is coming out of your Pro 52? Good to hear you got it moved from the side of your garage before Matt had to pull it up off its frame rails. ;)

can't remember where i read this , but it might apply here .

take a naturally aspirated engine , add 15 psi and you double the hp . 30psi is stock hp x 3 , 45psi = x4 , 60 psi = x5 , ect..... . assuming there is proper fuel going in .

anyone know what a cummins makes for hp without a turbo ?

Since we cannot start with a naturally aspirated engine that would be hard to apply. The general rule of thumb is 1 psi boost per 10 HP out of the stock turbo at the engine. Once again we cannot apply this because he has a Pro 52 turbo on it, so hence my question. ;-)

Tim I would guess it's probly a 200hp-225rwhp truck right now if that. I should have a set of nonIC'd sticks coming to put in the crew cab, then the POD's that are in it will go in this auto truck. Then we'll have another injector comparison ;) . I've dynoed the auto truck on Chris Porter's dyno locally and it managed 338hp 850ishftlbs. The setup was good for 450rwhp with a manual transmission behind it.

With that much of a HP drop do you keep checking to see if you have the parking brake on? Well at least with the PODs in there you might be able to through a little smoke. One of these days I might just be able to make it out there to get on Chris' dyno.
