Just like his owner! 8)

Parker, I don't remember saying not the 60mm wheel, unless it's because it's not big enough.
I'm going to be watching for a 62/65/14 I think. I've picked a few brains and that seems to be a good choice for me. I may upgrade to 6 x .016's also. I don't think any of this is going to get done this year. Just don't have the funds right now.

Yeah, you said the 60mm wasn't big enough. Over 3K it gets pretty toasty.

I suppose I'll see what I can find cheaper, between the 62/71/14 and 62/65/14 and go with that.

Thanks everybody.

ps - you know that that charger used to sell for only a few hundred dollars, as in less than 500 (in its stock form) (57/65) until 'they' figured out that they work well on diesel pick up trucks...pisses me off to no end

Define "barking" the turbo. I have heard this term before about the HX40. Something about breaking shafts?

Basically, when you are on the throttle pretty heavy, and you let off real quick. The truck isn't fueling and you are still making big boost, which isn't good for the turbo. The HX40 shares a shaft with the HX35, so they aren't as strong as they could be. May also be people exaggerating a little bit, but I don't have any personal experience with the HX40.

The HX40 has a bigger compressor wheel on the same shaft, so there will be more mass spinning on what is supposed to be an HX35 shaft, which will cause more stress on the shaft, leading to failure. The HX35 has a smaller comp. wheel, so there isn't as much mass spinning, and it isn't as heavy so it won't break as easy. make any sense?

I know how to say it in my head, but I can't seem to get it through my fingers...

Barking is when the high boost in the system backs up thru the turbo when you let off quick. The sudden surge against the wheel stresses the shaft too much.

Oh, and I was clearing PM's, and I was mistaken. I'll be looking for a 62/71/14, not a 65. ;)
