ROCKEN-TECH????????

Postby jb » Tue Apr 07, 2009 12:21 pm

Hi guys

I'm looking to go through my engine and right now and I'm looking for resources; one of the parts req. is an injection pump, I,m thinking Diesel Care & Performance??? I want to keep the core so I can play with it so it's going to cost about $1100

I called Rocken-tech and they said they sell NEW pumps for $899 with no core. I've talked to them twice and it seems like you can hear the catalog pages turn when you ask questions. I'm wondering who has one of these pumps and what did ya' get for your $$

I want a reliable pump that is done right, I just want to pull a trailer and dirve around with this truck. (275-300HP)

1990 non i/c, nv4500, 3.54 gears

I'm entertaining the idea of an intercooler but I need it driving on the road first.

I would buy the rocken tech pump. It sounds like a good value and their parts are decent quality. They also have a fairly advanced facility there.

FWIW when I was looking for a complete pump for a customers stock truck I contacted Rocken tech with a complete list of Dodge OEM VE Bosch part numbers and they said they didn't have any pumps that matched that. So with that being said you should be careful of what you get from them that it is for sure the correct pump, just because it is a VE doesn't mean it is the same. I had a customer buy a pump off ebay that turned out to be off a mitsubishi application. The camplate wasn't right in it and he wondered why he got bad mileage and high egt's with it. Externally it looked right, but internally it was wrong. It also had a 10mm plunger instead of the stock 12mm, not good. If it doesn't match one of teh Bosch builds for our applications I wouldn't get it.
