Turbo oil feed line?

Postby redneckroot » Thu May 07, 2009 6:43 am

I am in the middle of putting on my turbo, but the oil feed line (not sure if that is what you call it) has a larger fitting on it then what the turbo will allow, looking at the threads in the turbo I think they are even different, not sure what I should do? Its a HTT turbo that I bought used the guy before me had it on a 2nd gen.

On your 1990, you will need the adaptor that came on the later turbos. I saw an extra I have around a few weeks ago in the basement- I'm not even going to promise to look for it, since I wont find it when it is the object of my search. It'll be in the way next time I look for something else.

I went through the same thing when I put my S300 on my 89. I called a cummins shop and had them order the one that fits the second gen turbos. I would give you the part number but it came in a clear bag with no numbers on it.

Any local dodge or cummins dealer will be able to order one. Its just the 2nd gen turbo oil inlet adapter as stated above. Think mine were like 15 bucks.

I was under the impression it was a special fitting that required an o ring.

I had the shop send one to my house. It was pretty cheap. The closest shop to me is an hour away.
