Pump CC's

Postby JQmile » Thu May 28, 2009 8:06 pm

Who's had their pump on a test stand? CC's? at what rpm? Mods? 12 or 14mm? etc.

first try was approx (bad memory but actual numbers are posted elsewhere on this site) 436cc at 2950 with a 14mm but it died back to around 220 from there on up to 4000 rpm

second attempt with a different setup was about 320cc but held that # pretty close all the way to 4000 rpm and i still have two full turns on the fuel screw left to play with

Giles is workin on a high rpm 12mm (5000) as we speak.

Who's 14mm were you using? KTA's or Rocken Tech's?

Can't wait to see the results of giles 12mm pump. When will it be ready? Whose truck is it for? Or just an experiment?

I don't remember exact numbers (can be found on another post) but my current non intercooled pump did over 400cc at 1600 stand rpm (3200 engine rpm) with the 14mm/4mm combo and 6-18's. Currently it makes well over 300cc of fuel at the same rpm and same injectors with the 14mm only.
I know I am making that kind of fuel because even with a 64mm turbo running 55psi, ported head, and cam I still couldnt control the egt's.

no - broke the ears off of the cam plate, but I suspect the clover leaf shaped part broke first - I am thinkin maybe too much torque from the fuel load caused the failure - its a very tiny cross section

anyway, no a piece of shrapnel got into the head

usin rocken techs 14mm

the high rpm 12mm is an experiment I asked Giles to pursue for truck pulling and if it works will eb on my truck next season or sooner

That was the exact same failure as mine. Broke the ears off the cam plate. I also suspect it was fuel load but I believe it was from fuel backing up in the pump because the pump tech attempted to use his test injectors. (way to small a tip)

Haven't got all the details yet, I'm sure it's down at like 2800 or something. Don't have the pump yet. And as for being overfueled, I was thinking yes, air, and lots of it. At least two stages of nitrous and another turbo 8)
