New injectors, 370's or 6X.016's?

Postby peobryant » Wed Jun 10, 2009 3:52 pm

I had planned on putting a set of 370's in my truck, but somebody stole my set, and my brothers set out of the toolbox in my truck. Apparently, Patrick didn't lock the toolbox, and someone stole the injectors.

Since I'm going to have to get a new set anyways, I want to do it right this time. Should I go with the New Era 370's, or would a set of 6X.016's with mild pump settings be a better idea?

If I do go with 6X.016's, which company has the best reputation? New Era, Coaltrain, Scheid?

Thanks

Well the 370's will run cleaner then the 6X16's. I went with the 6x16's just so I never would feel the urge to go bigger. I had read where everybody bought big sticks then down the road they sold them cheap and bought bigger ones. Being I am a cheap ass I went big first. Mine is tuned mild and it still smokes. It hazes all the time, worse when cold and not as bad after up to temp. I see haze all the time while driving. It does not bother me, I can make the truck go without black if I go easy. Then if I need to get moving I can make a black cloud on demand. :D

I agree with what Richie is saying, I got the 6x16's because its a play/competition truck and I dont ever want to buy injectors again. If the truck was a daily driver I think I would have gotten some 435's. i got my 6x16's from coaltrain. Mark and Richard are nice guys and I'm very happy with them.

For a clean burning injector that makes good power I wouldn't rule out some Dynomite Diesel injectors either. I'd order some DDP4's and have Lenny make em 65-70lpm. Not knocking my 6x16s, they're just smoky and nasty.

Maybe you should see if Lenny will extrude hone your 6x.016" injectors a little bit to clean them up and help atomization. Probably make a few more ponies and clean up the idle and cruising haze some to. I want a back to back comparison. 8)
