Turbo off a 24v 98/99 Cummins

Would it work on my 1st gen truck? He thinks its a 40 not sure if super 40 or HX40 or what but stock turbo and exhuast housing, fully rebuilt. My buddy got it rebuilt but than upgraded to a another turbo.

If it's stock from a 98 or 99 then it's an HX 35. Not much of an upgrade.

Ya its stock turbo and exhuast housing from my buds 24V fully rebuilt. Oh so not really worth it?

For sure not enough with those 370's you have on the way. It's an ok upgrade with just the fuel screw in, but that's about it.
You could get a 60mm compressor upgrade for it, but it's just a band aid.

Is his truck an automatic or manual?

I think the automatic 24 Valve trucks had an HY35, but the manuals have an HX35.

Its an auto. Ya I planned on a turbo just thinking it would be cheaper this way, esspeiclly being that its from a buddy.
