Intercooler question

Postby Crossy's son » Mon Aug 03, 2009 11:23 am

Hey guys Just wanted to know if a Stock 92 intercooled would fit around the NON i/c radiator. Non crossflow.

I know the core supports are different, I'd have to figure out some mounting, I have the pipes (need turbo elbow for i/c truck).

I though the non i/c rad was wider so i'm not sure if the i/c will fit.

Thanks

Brandon

It will fit with some cutting away of the metal mount that surrounds the nonIC'd radiator. The core of the radiator is narrow enough, it's just the mount itself. I sent a bunch of pictures of an install to RSWORDS. Maybe he can send them to you as I don't know where they're at, or maybe he'll put them in a photobucket thing lol.

Is this the truck you are going to intercool? I was under the impression you were going to sell it?

Pretty good looking truck.

It'll get sold when the 5spd truck is done.

We'd like another truck to look at things, so we put the dissasembled truck back together right. And the blue truck is gonna get painted because its pretty much rust free (got a bedside), Painting it dark blue w/silver roof and then it'll get sold, No use for 2 first gens on the road. it'll probably be another year.

and this 91 gets better mileage than my Dad's 05, He put 1200 miles on it in 2 weeks :D . the neglected 3rd gen sits in the garage collecting dust

Just wanna have fun with it. I'm installing a piston pump on it right now.

Also picked up soem 33" tall 16" slicks .

Slicks? New or used? If you don't mind, how much they run ya? I was toying with the idea of slicks, but I don't run the track enough for it to be practical. I just like to see what the truck will do once in a while. ;)

They were in the Central Jersey craigslist. 33" tall , About 70% but good enough for us, not like we race it everyday. Same guy that c12h26 bought his off of, we just bought the other 2... he had them on all 4's of a 3rd gen hopped up. that was his last pair

the other 91 727 truck we bombed around in, only reason it wouldn't go faster than 14.8 was traction!!!! and powertrax's or anything else that works in a 3.07 rear is too expensive for a beater!!!
