That's the turbo ill be getting once I get money saved up. You will need a 4" Downppe for it. That's a good price, the cheapest I could find was $920 shipped plus $140 for 4" Downpipe.

That's what I got, and probably from the same guy.

I've had the turbo on for about a month. In my non-intercooled auto truck with a turned up pump and ground fuel pin, it spools faster than the old H1C and holds about the same EGT at cruise (500*), but it seems to hit 1000* really easily on acceleration. It gets to 1000* pretty quickly, but takes quite a while to get hotter than that after that point. In a run to 85mph (governed speed) it will just barely edge up to 1400*.

One thing I noticed though, was that it took a lot less time to get below 300* once you were idling it before shutdown. It also seems to idle cooler period.

One thing I love about it, is the sweet sweet noise it makes. It's about the best sounding turbo I've heard in a while.

Mine is 'gated right at 32 psi, and if you're getting the same turbo with the double flap wastegate, it 'gates the boost off and doesn't seem to have any boost creep at the RPMs I'm turning.

32psi seems really low. I would think that turbo would be good to 40-45psi. If you are getting to 1400deg and gated to 32psi I would lengthen the rod and pull a little more boost. To make it simple just clamp the wastegate line shut and see how much boost it makes under full load in higher gear. If it doesnt break 45psi then just leave the gate unhooked and plug the line.

Ya but don't wanna blow a head gasket either tho, I heard stock gasket is only good for about 35-40psi?

It depends on what you want to do with the truck. If it's and all out performance toy, than I think there are better choices (62/71/14) but of you tow and have a mild set up then it should work pretty well.

If you do tow, and plan to stay under or around 400rwhp, I think the best choice for turbo would be a Super 40, which you can usually find cheaper than that new, and they flow more than a base 62/71/14. Just my opinion though.

Different people have different experiences with that. There was a Canadian fellow on here (Cummins King) who had twins and was pushing 60+psi for months on the stock gasket with just a retorque, but then there are guys who have basically bone stock trucks that blow a gasket.

im not looking for more than 30-35 poundas of boost. i just want quick spool up and lowered egts. its mostly a play truck but want to be able to tow if needed. i have new era 370's ordered and want a turbo to keep up.

With my luck this would be the category I fall into. My boost gauge only goes to 35 psi anyways, so after that I'm kind of in the dark.
