Ran an 8.48 @ 78.xx last night at the 1/8th mile track.

Still working on it. ;)

Last week I ran 8.48 @ 78.51.

This week I ran 8.44 @ 79.20 followed by a 8.46 @ 79.10.

The only difference is that I insulated my cold air intake housing and the turbo feed tube with some 1/2" foam rubber. :?

I know it ain't much, . . . . . . . . . I'm just say'in . . .. . . .

OK, so two months later I've . . .

- Installed a Hamilton 181/210 cam, 24v lifters and chromaloy pushrods.
- Custom big-@ss Hellman intercooler with 3" charge-air plumbing.

All of which to get more air through the engine hopefully to burn the excess fuel of the 6x.016" EDMs.

Changing absolutely nothing else . . .

Wide Open Throttle EGT's are down approximately 150*F (it now struggles to see 1350*F). Boost went from 60+psig (gauge pegged) down to almost 55psig.

Street ~ The is a noticeable improvement in part-throttle response of the CTD. MUCH less smoke once the turbos start to spool. Certainly, there's the typical black cloud if one tips into the throttle too quick. But if one rolls into it responsibly, the excess smoke is WAY down.

Strip ~ My last pass at the 8th mile strip was an 8.44 @ 79.20 followed by a 8.46 @ 79.10. Tonight I managed .....

R/T = .0961
60' = 1.8485
330' = 5.3446
1/8th = 8.3697 @ 80.43mph

I'm thinking I'll be able to do a tiny bit better with tuning the heap in it's new configuration.

We'll see. ;)
